Umm Kolthum Museum
Her voice recorded history, her songs spoke of a nation and her legacy has co-structured the Egyptian modern heritage. Her house is a delving journey back into her glorious life.
This tiny museum was opened in 2002, presenting music, videos, and devotional objects from the life of the most famous Egyptian singer - Umm Kulthum (from Arabic "the mother of every mouth". She died in 1974). Inside the museum one will be able to find a multimedia room where you can listen to her music. You can also watch a short film about her life, depicting everything from her performances as a Bedouin boy, to her magnetic shows that brought Cairo to a standstill, and then her funeral, when millions of mourners flooded the streets. Entrance fee: Egyptians: LE2 - Foreigners: LE2
