Ruby Tuesday
Citystars, Omar Ibn El Khattab St., Phase 1, 5th Floor
2480 22 72
By Eugenia Ugrinovich

I’ve heard a lot about Ruby Tuesday in Citystars, so I was ready to experience excellent food and hospitality of the highest grade, but I didn’t expect to eat so much that I had to be rolled out of the restaurant, due to my inability to move, breathe or function.

First of all, I blamed the BIG portions and had I known earlier that these guys were that generous, I would have fasted for a couple of days. And, secondly, I blamed the chef, who managed to create dishes that I could not resist. But I had to review the place, so I gained all my courage, went there and stuffed myself bravely with delicacies, such as their thick and creamy Mushroom Soup, the SUPERB Spinach-Artichoke Dip served with unlimited crisp tortilla chips and Four Way Sampler (chicken strips, fire wings, southwestern spring rolls, and fried mozzarella). They also had a variety of quesadillas (cheeseburger, chicken, buffalo shrimp – you choose), plus a wide assortment of various main dishes, the list of which was so long and elaborate that I had to ‘bug’ the waiter with my endless questions; but since he had seen a few like me before (or maybe he was trained to be ‘bug’ proof), he was friendly, understanding and, what’s important, patient. I managed to savor a bit from everything (love my job!), including the delicious Asian Glazed Salmon brought with sesame peanut sauce, the BBQ Grilled Chicken (grilled chicken breast with BBQ sauce resting on a bed of veggies, white cheddar and mashed potatoes) and their fabulous Mini Trio (chicken, beef and shrimp itsy-bitsy burgers, in American terms, of course). The salad-lover in me went crazy over the spectacular salad bar they had, which included an extravaganza of various ‘daring’ ingredients, sauces and dressings. Needless to say that they also had a great array of poultry and meat items, not to mention their intricate desserts that basically ticked all the right boxes in terms of clientele preferences.

The beverage menu was also a reason to ‘wow’ about. Particularly refreshing was their Ruby Relaxer with coconut, peach, orange, pineapple and cranberry juices. The menu also featured margaritas, mojitos, berry up shakes, smoothies and refreshing beverages*.

I stopped filling myself up only at the point when I thought I was about to explode (the state when your stomach is swearing at you for giving it so much job!) and only then did I notice that apart from their impressive food and service, they also boasted a casual yet cozy atmosphere with sitting-room style leather couches that were a bit too low but overall comfy, a non-alcoholic beverage bar, a division into smoking and non-smoking areas, huge windows overlooking the shopping spree and – of course – soothing earthy colors intensified by their shining lamps.

To say that I liked the place is to say nothing. But why taking my words for granted? Try it yourself.
