Indeed, Indigo has all the components it takes to make a successful venue: the entrance is striking with its waterfalls that are designed according to the old tradition of feng shui, indicating that the place connects you with the never-ending flow of universal abundance. The walls, the floors and the ceiling cleverly combine wood with bright colors as red, orange and peach; whereas the cushioned sofas coupled with the venue’s intricate silver chairs add an additional spice to this amazing restaurant, underlying once again that the décor is predominantly Asian. This is also seen through the huge crocodile hanging on one of the walls and a wall projector, showing various images from Buddha to the famous Om sign. Sparkles of the west are also seen, as the illuminated green bar and the impressive red hanging chairs that are so inviting you can hardly resist the temptation.
Apart from serving a multitude of alcoholic beverages and specialized cocktails as their renowned Cosmopolitan, they also indulge their clientele (by the way, a nice blend of high-class Egyptians and foreigners) in an array of snacks (available at the bar) or palatable dishes that can be savored at the place’s cushioned area overlooking the Nile. The spectrum of items is overwhelming, intelligently fusing Asian and European cuisines, satisfying each group of guests: those who like it hot and those who want it mild, those who like it fried and those who prefer it steamed, those who like beef and those who crave for some vegetarian items.
Kick off with their amazingly palatable Laksa Chicken Soup consisting of shredded chicken, glass noodles, basil and coconut milk or try out the nutritious Wonton Soup with some tender shrimp and chicken dumplings inside. For the main, strongly recommended are the yummy Stir-fried Beef Tenderloin served with spring onions, ginger and black pepper or the all-clients’ favorite Imported Dover Sole sprinkled with olive oil and almond butter crust. For the dessert do not miss out the soft Chocolate Cube (chocolate biscuit, chocolate mousse filling and dark chocolate served with a gold leaf) or the melting-in-the-mouth Meringue Glacée, comprising of meringue, yoghurt ice cream, raspberry sherbet and raspberry coulis. If you are in for Sushi*, Indigo has a full range of it as well, plus a good selection of rolls and Sashimis. The cocktails are also a must-try, among which recommended are: Fruity Good – a nice fusion of strawberry, mango and banana juices, plus a good portion of grenadine or the sweetie Cosmo, combining cranberry and mango juices with fresh kiwi.
The service surely befits the venue: it is quick, extremely friendly and efficient. Dishes are served within 15-20 minutes with a thorough explanation on each item’s ingredients.
Truly, if you want to see what a good restaurant is all about, this is the place to go!
