Crunchy
bread sticks and a wonderfully addictive herb flatbread with olive
paste welcome you while you make the difficult choice of what
delicious-sounding items you want from the menu.
A tempting selection of salads are on offer to start, all of which are
artfully presented, wonderfully fresh and cleverly flavoured with
subtle dressings plus other delicious entrees such as 'deep fried
calamari and tomato' and 'mozzarella marinated with basil', but those
wishing for a more authentic Italian dining experience would be wise to
choose from one of the anti-pasti with their wonderful variety of
colours, textures and flavours.
The aromatic pizzas are full of delicious flavours, and are a meal in
themselves, all of which are made following traditional recipes and
methods, lovingly prepared in the exhibition kitchen. Although all are
highly recommended, the deceptively simple 'Margarita', with its rich
tomato sauce and delicate sprinkling of herbs and cheese, satisfies
even the most discernable of palates.
Choose from the fantastic array of hand-made pasta available, as are a
delicious array of pasta sauces, allowing you to customise you dish to
suit your desires. The 'Gnocchi in white sauce' with optional chicken
and mushroom is worthy of note; a creamy, garlic infused cheese sauce
generously covers the wonderfully dense potato-based Italian dumpling;
as are the Italian mainstays of 'Risotto', 'Bolognese' and 'Ravioli'.
Desserts include Italian classics such as 'Tiramisu', 'Cannoli alla
Siciliana,' a melt-in-the-mouth Sicilian biscuit filled with Ricotta
cheese, fruit and chocolate, and the highly recommended 'Budino al
Cioccolato', a decedent and intense chocolate pudding served with an
equally rich vanilla ice cream.
End your meal with coffee, served with crunchy hazelnut 'dipping' biscuits.
Friday's are 'Family Day', with face painting and other children's
activities on offer plus a child-friendly menu including 'meat malls in
tomato sauce', 'breaded shrimp', r'oast potatoes', 'spaghetti with
pesto' and 'fruit salad'.
