Absolute
Casino El Shagara, Corniche El Nil
2579 65 12
“Cairo never sleeps” – will reassure you every Cairene and will name you at least five places to dance in until the wee hours of the morning, crowning them all with all-favorite Absolute, known to attract “buzzy” crowds of elite Egyptians in their 20’s and 30’s as well as foreigners of all ages.

Indeed, the popular hang-out, located just across the road from the famous five-star hotel Conrad, has all the reasons to be rightfully called a destination-must go. Firstly, it boasts a perfect location offering some of the most splendid views of the Nile; secondly, the club’s selection of music is considered to be among the best in the capital (certainly a DJ on a daily basis and Absolute’s house music coming at times with an Arabic twist cannot but inspire the crowds); and, finally, venue’s Indian/Oriental tasteful décor creates an atmosphere of relaxation, profoundly saturating the place with super-comfy couches, wooden divans with curtains and tiny plush pillows. Intricate wall paintings and dim lights do not disappoint either, creating a secluded atmosphere, especially appreciated by the many couples visiting the club.

The food is also a hit. Sharing the menu with its upstairs neighbor, Sangria, Absolute fuses together the east and the west, introducing such items as palatable spring rolls and Sushi, delicious pasta and pizza. Also on offer an extensive selection of beef, poultry and seafood dishes, able to satisfy even the choosiest of visitors. As far as the drinks are concerned, they are in profusion in the two well-stocked bars of the club, serving everything from soft beverages and non-alcoholic cocktails to a variety of beers, wines and other alcoholic drinks. Shisha is not available here, so those craving for it, should head straight to Sangria offering some of the best flavors in the capital.

Though it is usually jam-packed (Absolute is quite a small venue), the legendary nightspot has a good service, which might not be the best, but certainly attentive and helpful enough enabling you make the right choices.

All in all, it is difficult to find a reason not to come here (though maybe the venue’s tiny dance floor that presupposes a lot of people-and-table bumping can be one), so those planning to have a fiesta with friends, should definitely give this place a serious consideration.
