The biggest proof for a successful restaurant is the growing number of its branches and the constantly increasing amount of the place’s fans. Peking, the famous Chinese restaurant, falls by all means under the definition of a thriving venue, offering its clients a new and attractive branch in New Cairo, 10 minutes away from the famous compound Katameya Heights.
The restaurant is located on the first floor of 7 Stars Mall and consists of two parts: one devoted predominantly to on-the-run meals, where clients can greatly benefit from a quick take-away service (they finally launched the much-anticipated service of “Peking-in-the-box”); and a more secluded area that presupposes a luxurious dining in. There is also a buffet serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks along with a special section specially designed for tea receptions. This so-called “Tea House” is offering unique hand-mixed tea combinations, (like the blend of red and green teas with an infusion of herbs), boasting premium quality and fabulous taste. The idea behind creating this area is no longer surprising: as the beverage has a long tradition and rich history in both China and Egypt, it comes to merge the two cultures in a modern yet casual setting.
As far as the decoration of the place is concerned, it is definitely not like any other Peking restaurant you have visited before. No traditional Chinese lanterns or hieroglyphs on the ceiling and walls. Instead the ambience takes a more contemporary Chinese twist, featuring a lot of wood and intelligently playing on orange, dark red and beige shades, mirrors expanding the space and colorful flowers. The walls are ornamented with cheerful and light paintings taken from the traditional Chinese motives.
At the same time, there is only one thing that remains unchanged: the food. The menu is still saturated with the same items, starting from the much-beloved Spring Rolls, the delicious Peking Salad (consisting of glass noodles and vegetables), Seafood Salad and a huge variety of main dishes with meat, poultry, fish and seafood to choose from. Whether you are looking for Spicy Shredded Calamari, Hot Stewed Fish, Prawns with Cashew Nuts, Duck with Ginger and Garlic, Chicken Kun Pao, Beef with Five Spice and Mushrooms or Stewed Veal with Green Beans & Onions (plus much more…) – it is all here, under one roof, in Peking!
